{"id":3102,"date":"2019-06-05T22:41:08","date_gmt":"2019-06-05T20:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/?p=3102"},"modified":"2019-06-06T14:26:12","modified_gmt":"2019-06-06T12:26:12","slug":"dmjx-at-copenhagen-photo-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/index.php\/2019\/06\/05\/dmjx-at-copenhagen-photo-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"DMJX at Copenhagen Photo Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Thursday the 6th of June, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Copenhagen Photo Festival (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/copenhagenphotofestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Copenhagen Photo Festival<\/a> will begin and more than 20 DMJX students and their projects will be a part of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOLO EXHIBITIONS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1417\" height=\"1134\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/17lille.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3105\"\/><figcaption><em>Picture from Mathias Svold and Ulrik Hasemann&#8217;s project Coastland. <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mathias Svold and Ulrik Hasemann\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Coastland project (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kystland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Coastland project<\/a> will be exhibited at Broens Gadek\u00f8kken and Kulturt\u00e5rnet at Knippelsbro. The two photographers will give an artist talk at Broens Gadek\u00f8kken on Wednesday the 12th of June at 5pm and at Kulturt\u00e5rnet, Knippelsbro Thursday the 13th at 4pm.<br>The project will also be exhibited in the new terminal at Copenhagen Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mathias Svold and Ulrik Hasemann started Coastland as their\nBA-project in 2017, continued to work on the project in 2018 and realeased the\nbook around a month ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DMJX has financially supported the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1559\" height=\"1039\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Houborg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3103\"\/><figcaption><em>One of Jesper Houborg&#8217;s pictures from his project &#8220;Faceless People&#8221;.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Third term student Jesper Houborg is showing his project\n\u201cFaceless People\u201c at Videom\u00f8llen, Sankt Hans Gade\/Ravnsborggade every night\nbetween 10pm and midnight, where the pictures will be projected outside on a\nhouse wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GROUP EXHIBITIONS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1250\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/SofieMathiassen_Selviscenes\u00e6ttelse_Lille.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3104\"\/><figcaption><em>Sofie Mathiassen&#8217;s self portrait, which is part of the Self Staged exhibition.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Eighth term student, Sofie Mathiassen is among the 33 selected Danish photographers, who are exhibiting self portraits at the Theater Museum, Christiansborg Ridebane 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1134\" height=\"756\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Video_124.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3106\"\/><figcaption><em>Picture from Morten Lau-Nielsen&#8217;s story \u201cThe Buoyant Days\u201d, which will be shown at Status:19.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Status:19 exhibition will be shown at H\u00f8jbro Plads in\nPixlArt\u2019s exhibition bus. Status:19 is a curated exhibition of 100 images,\nwhich shows a mix of the best Danish photography within the genres commercial,\nart, communication, portrait and journalism. The exhibition pictures have been\nselected among more than 2,300 submissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 8 DMJX students Sille Veilmark, Nanna Navntoft, Sofie Mathiassen, Tobias Nicolai, Mads Claus Rasmussen, Morten Lau-Nielsen, Ida Marie Odgaard and Ivan Boll have pictures at Status:19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"992\" height=\"1487\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/AAP18_05POR1_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2875\"\/><figcaption><em>Portrait of CEO of Danske Bank, Thomas Borgen. Several DMJX students have pictures at the exhibition, among them are\nthe winners and runner-ups at the competition;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julie Kristensen and Andreas Merrald &#8211; first prize in the\ncategory Long TV\/Web story for their story \u201eDistant Love\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofie Mathiassen &#8211; first prize in the category Danish\nReportage for at picture of her grandparents photographed in the moment where\nher grandmother says a last goodbye the her late grandfather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marie Bentzon &#8211; first prize in the Portrait Singles category for a portait of the CEO of Danske Bank, Thomas Borgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mikkel H\u00f8rlyck &#8211; runner-up in the category Long Term Project with his story \u201cA Long Life with Drugs: I mustn\u2019t Die before my Mother\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanja Carstens Lund &#8211; runner-up in the category for Danish Everyday Picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WORKSHOPS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, 9 DMJX students have been selected to participate in festival workshops with photographers Andrea Bruce and Filippo Venturi.
