He was very happy and had had a wonderful life, he said. He had planned to slaugther a horse and invite friends for his 90 years birthday. From the project &#8220;Crystals in the Dew&#8221; by Wilma Leskowitsch.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Wilma Leskowitsch (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leskowitsch.de\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wilma Leskowitsch<\/a> is exhibiting her project &#8220;Crystals in the Dew&#8221; at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Fotohaus in Arles (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fotoparisberlin.com\/fotohaus2019\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fotohaus in Arles<\/a>. It is the BelleVue Galleri from Basel, which shows two of their previous exhibitions at the Fotohaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilma Leskowitsch was born in 1988, before the fall of the Berlin Wall, in the USSR, in today&#8217;s Kazakhstan. Her family belonged there to a German minority, who were deported from the Volga- German Republic to Kazakhstan because of their nationality during the Second World War. Leskowitsch&#8217;s family lived there over 50 years in the small village Uyaly. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall in the early 1990s, when Wilma Leskowitsch was five years old, her family moved to Germany. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After 25 years of absence, Wilma Leskowitsch goes in search of her origins, the traces of her family and her culture in the areas of the former Soviet Union. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Crystals in the Dew&#8221; started as Wilma&#8217;s final diploma project made at DMJX during Photo II in the fall 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1417\" height=\"1215\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Video_46.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3159\"\/><figcaption><em>A portrait of Mohammad, a 42 year old man, looking out of an  abandoned mosque located at the heights of the former Takht Shah  Village. The deserted  village of Takht Shah, Azbol. <\/em><br><em>Photo: Hashem Shakeri<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Hashem Shakeri (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hashemshakeri.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hashem Shakeri<\/a>&#8216;s project &#8220;An Elegy for the Death of Hamun&#8221; is shown at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Night of the Year (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rencontres-arles.com\/en\/agenda\/view\/2256\/night-of-the-year\" target=\"_blank\">Night of the Year<\/a> at Papeteries \u00c9tienne on Friday the 5th from 8pm and the at Crosi\u00e9re Exhibition from the 8th of July till the 22nd of September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;An Elegy for the Death of Hamun&#8221; covers the severe drought in Sistan and Baluchestan in the southeast of Iran. Hashem Shakeri made the story as his final project during Photo I in the spring 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1134\" height=\"1404\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Kreibig_arles.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3212\"\/><figcaption><em>Chained to the ground, two Greenland  Dogs live outside through the harshest conditions, waiting all year for  the sledding season. It will be part of the screening on Tuesday, 2nd July in the Cour de l&#8217;Archev\u00each\u00e9, starting at 10 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lukas Kreibig made the story as his final diploma project at DMJX in the fall 2017.
