Two gold medals, one finalist and one honorable mention to DMJX projects was the result after the two days of judging the multimedia categories at the 78th College Photographer of the Year.<\/a> The DMJX multimedia winners are:

Mairold<\/em> by<\/strong> Martin Thomas Ford and Nichlas Pollier<\/strong>

The documentary follows Mairold, a 27-year-old father who has been kicked out of his home by his girlfriend. Mairold has been stuck in a strong fentanyl addiction since he was 15 years old, and today he is walking a fine line trying to live a normal life as a family man. For over a decade up until 2017, Estonia has had the highest number of overdoses per capita in Europe. Zander (14) is born blind, and his big dream is to become a radio host. It is seen clearly when<\/em> he is doing his weekly podcast, Den Blinde Vinkel (The Blind Spot). Zander got signed up for DJ lessons in the after school classes, and he had an amazing evening. Therefore it hit hard, when the message the following day was that it too big a handful for the after school classes to have Zander in the class because of his disability. It can be difficult for Zander to get into sighted relations. But with his friends Gustav, Leona and Mathias who also live with visual impairment, there is a mutual understanding which has a created a strong bond.

This is the story of Danish pensioners who choose to settle permanently or part-time on the Costa del Sol coastline in Spain. It is an account of their everyday life in Spain and of life in Denmark they are leaving in an attempt to make life better. It is the story of the pursuit of the good life. Because what does the good life look like? Is it a static thing? And does life actually improve by being in an area with lots of sunlight? CPOY is the world’s oldest competition for student photographers. It was founded i 1945 and is administered by The Missouri School of Journalism. The 2023 competition is the 78th of it’s kind. This year 571 students from 49 different countries have submitted stories to the competition. 89 projects were submitted in the multimedia categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
