{"id":6371,"date":"2023-12-07T18:11:17","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T17:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/?p=6371"},"modified":"2023-12-07T18:12:56","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T17:12:56","slug":"sefa-eyol-winner-and-finalist-in-two-competitions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/index.php\/2023\/12\/07\/sefa-eyol-winner-and-finalist-in-two-competitions\/","title":{"rendered":"Sefa Eyol winner and finalist in two competitions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With his project <em>The Costs of Freedom<\/em>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sefaeyol.com\/#1\" target=\"_blank\">Sefa Eyol<\/a> is one the three winners in the student category of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/rps.org\/groups\/documentary\/dpa-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Royal Photographic Society Documentary Photography Awards<\/a> ( DPA 2023 )&nbsp;and he is one the finalists of the student contest Homework at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/268278949866950\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vilnius Photo Festival<\/a> 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/DSCF0962.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6372\"\/><figcaption><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sefaeyol.com\/projects\/the-cost-of-freedom\/#1\" target=\"_blank\">The Costs of Freedom<\/a> is a reportage project about the struggle of the Ukrainian people during the Russian attack at their nation. The project is made between April 2022 &#8211; July 2022 before Sefa Eyol started his study at DMJX. Photo: Sefa Eyol<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sefa Eyol&#8217;s winning project will be part of DPA 2023&#8217;s touring exhibition in the UK. The exhibition with the winning images will be open in London May 2024.<br><br>Confirmed Venues:&nbsp;<br>May &#8211; The Nunnery Gallery, Bow, London<br>June- Edend Court, Inverness<br>September- Oriel Colwyn, North Wales&nbsp;<br>October &#8211; St. John&#8217;s College, Oxford&nbsp;<br>November &#8211; RPS House, Bristol&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners were selected from around 3500 images submitted by hundreds of entries from across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Costs of Freedom<\/em> is also exhibited at Vilnius Photo Festival 2023 together with all the other finalists in the festival&#8217;s competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sefa Eyol is currently studying at our Photo 1 programme and will continue his study at Photo 2 in the spring 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\" src=\"https:\/\/photo.dmjx.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/DSCF1491.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6373\"\/><figcaption><em>Ukraine, April 2022 &#8211; July 2022.
