Fire Trees on Als revolves around the myths of the Danish island Als, where Frederik Danielsen grew up. Frederik manages to evoke the viewer\u2019s curiosity for these local places and stories by applying a photographic approach that combines documentary photography and conceptual art, using both his own photographic as well as found material from local archives. In the project Are we nearly there, yet, Mathias Eis explores life at the 148 rest stops along the Danish highways. Although most people have visited one of these stops, few people attach any value to these places, but Mathias Eis\u2019 keen eye transforms these otherwise bland locations.<\/em>

The Copenhagen Photo Festival runs every year in the beginning of June. The 2024 festival runs from June 6 to June 16.
