On the day of the German election, Sunday February 23, 2025, the fourth term students headed for Hamburg on a two-days’ study trip to Hamburg together with S\u00f8ren Pagter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the visit and lunch at Die Zeit, the students spent the Monday afternoon at Freelens Gallery, where they had a lecture with the Russian photographer Aliona Kardash<\/a>, who is based in Hamburg. Photo: S\u00f8ren Pagter\/DMJX<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, February 25 started with a visit of the exhibitions at Deichtorhallen<\/a>. During the visit the students had a guided tour of two of the exhibitions; Blow Up by the artist Franz Gertsch and High Noon that displays the photographers Nan Goldin, David Armstrong, Mark Morrisroe and Philip-Lorca diCorcia. In the picture Vikki S\u00f8holm and Signe S\u00f8holt is looking at on of Franz Gertsch’s photo realistic paintings that it took him around a year to make. <\/em>

The two days’ study trip ended with a tour of the area G\u00e4ngeviertel by photographer Carsten Rabe<\/a>. G\u00e4ngeviertel is the last original workers’ neighbourhood in Hamburg. It used to be the place where the workers of the harbour and their families lived. Now, the area is being restored and used for apartments, local shops and cultural activities like music, exhibitions and other events. Carsten Rabe lives and has his studio in the area.
