Dicte S\u00f8nnichesen is also among the 150 photographers shortlisted for PhotoVogue, Women by Women<\/a>, where she has proceeded to the port folio reviews. The Global call received 100,000 submissions from over 9,500 artists across 149 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Untamned Lands<\/strong>

In the American West, girls are raised by their fathers to be self-reliant. From a young age, they learn how to drive a pickup truck so they can later haul their horses in a trailer. These are girls whose biggest wish for their 21st birthday is a handgun. Girls who have been on horseback for as long as they can remember, and who aren\u2019t afraid to get dirty or put in hard work. They are deeply connected to the land and to the nature – and they are all members of the same College rodeoteam in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story was made in the early spring 2025 during the fourth term photo documentary workshop. Dicte S\u00f8nnichsen is currently doing her internship at Information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
