The second issue of New Danish Documentary<\/a> was released on Friday, October 24 and three DMJX projects were selected for the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Danish Photography is a photographic journal established by Disko Bay<\/a>, Spine Studio<\/a> and Dansk Dokumentarisme<\/a>, published every second year. The first edition, New Danish Documentary #01<\/a> was published in June 2023. The aim is to look beyond the dichotomy between art and documentary photography as a place to gain our bearings and take stock of Danish Photography right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Danish Photography #2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Danish Photography #2 contains of 12 series, each unfolding in their own way moments that might offer a glimpse of understanding and meaning. These vastly different photographers represent a selection of the best and most vital photography in Denmark right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese photographers do not produce content \u2013 they document, create art and make photographs. We can\u2019t track engagement or measure our reach, but we can try to create an oasis for contemplation and immersion, where you as a reader might lose yourself for a while.\u201d \u2013 From the preface by Emil Ryge, Dansk Dokumentarisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frederik Danielsen began the project as his Visual Project during his seventh term at DMJX in the fall 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was made as the two photographers\u2019 final BA-project in 2021 and received the ECCA-DMJX Photojournalism Award<\/a> in 2022. The project is currently exhibited at the Gender Museum Denmark<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generation Climate<\/strong>

Christian Falck Wolff began his Generation Climate during a holiday while interning at Politiken in 2023. He received one of the ECCA-DMJX Photojournalism Awards in 2024<\/a>. The grant has been spent on continuing the work on the stories for the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
