Before the official opening of the World Press Photo 2023, the DMJX students attended three lectures held at Politiken’s Hus. In the first lecture, DMJX alumni Maria Albrechtsen Mortensen (sitting in the back) talked about her work as a videographer at the Royal Danish Theatre. Maria talked about the benefit of having access and how knowing the people you work with can give more depth in your stories. She showed examples of her visually strong video stories.
Three times World Press Photo winner and DMJX alumni, Mads Nissen from Politiken gave an inspirational and dedicated lecture where he talked about his projects. In this picture, he is talking about his World Press Photo of the Year 2021. Mads Nissen also won World Press Photo Story of the Year 2023 with his story The Price of Peace in Afghanistan.
