As part of their course Learning about the Media Industry, the Danish fourth term students have been on a two-days study trip to Hamburg together with Søren Pagter. During the two days, they visited two exhibitions, attended a talk with photographer Alexandra Polina and visited the newspaper Die Zeit, where they met with picture editor Amelie Schneider.

First stop on the trip was a guided of the exhibition American Cycles by Philip Montgomery. American Cycles is on display till May 10, 2026 at PHOXXI Haus der Photographie, Deichtorhallen, Hamburg.

After lunch on the first day of the trip, the students visited Freelens Gallery where curator Peter Lindhorst gave a tour of the exhibition In Love With Photography by Volker Hinz.

After watching the exhibition In Love With Photography, the students had a talk with German photographer Alexandra Polina, who talked about both her personal projects and commercial assignments.

On the second day of the study trip the students visited Die Zeit, where director of photography Amélie Schneider gave an insight in the newspaper and how they plan their stories. She also gave a lot of good advices on how to co-operate with picture editors and media companies.
