Salih Basheer is one of the first two winners ever of The Everyday Projects Grant.

Salih Basheer won the Everyday Project Grant based on his personal project “22 days in Between”, which he made during his study at DMJX in the spring 2021. Salih was a scholarship student at DMJX in 2020 and 2021 – supported by VII Foundation.
The winning project is a narrative journey back to the time after Salih lost his parents and settled in a new home to live with his grandmother. With his project Salih is trying to know more about his parents and himself, and it’s a healing process from the trauma.

More than 450 photographers from all over the world applied for the grant and the jury selected two winners to received $ 6,000 each. The two grantees will receive one year of mentorship as they continue their proposed project.
