World Photography Organisation has announced the only ten students worldwide who are shortlisted for the 2025 Student Competition. Fourth term DMJX student Peter Maunsbach is on the list.
Peter is nominated for his ongoing project Forever to Go that he started as his First Year Project during his second term at DMJX in the spring 2024.
The project examines involuntary childlessness and the growing of fertility treatments in Denmark. One in eight children in Denmark are born through fertility treatment and the process is lengthy, the medication is harsh and, in the end, the outcome can be devastating as families lose the dream of what could have been.
For the 2025 edition of the World Photography Student Competition, photography students were invited to respond to the brief In the Beginning through a series of five to 10 images. The shortlisted projects reflect a wide range of beginnings, from personal histories of the photographers’ lives to surveys of societal change.
The ten selected projects will be a part of the World Photography exhibition in London and the winner of Student Photographer of the Year will be selected from the 10 students and announced at the Sony World Photography Awards 2025 ceremony in London on April 16. The overall winning university will receive Sony digital imaging equipment worth €30,000.
