Tilde and Silke met when they both started seventh grade at Ringkøbing School, and they quickly became inseparable. But how do you know if your new best friend truly is a best friend for life? And how do you take the best possible care of your friendships? “Kids Our Age” offers a glimpse into the fragile teenage years, where Tilde and Silke, with honesty and vulnerability, invite us into their friendship and remind us how friendships, even in a digital age, are based on presence and trust. The video documentary was made during a 3rd semester course with guest lecturer Heidi Skibsted

Image from Signe Lægsgaard’s prize winning series “After the Flood”.
After the flood. Something that looks like an absurd theatre scene is taking place at the local music school in the town of Massanassa, just outside Valencia, Spain. A soiled grand piano is chopped into pieces with an axe and hammer so that soldiers in safety suits can carry it out into a container. The room, which was previously used for performances and concerts, is located in the basement, and was therefore converted into a brown aquarium when the water came. Now it must be emptied of inventory, mud and sludge.
The series was made during Signe’s internship at Politiken and this picture was also nominated to be the Danish Press Photograph of the Year 2024.

It gives strength to have to carry. Freja is in a warm bathtub in Lukashuset, a children’s and young people’s hospice in Denmark. A physiotherapist massages her arm while her older sister Nova plays next to her. As she lies there, she looks like all other three-year-olds, but Freja has a rare genetic defect, epilepsy and involuntary muscle cramps, and she needs help with most things – eating, drinking and lifting her head. Until February 2024, her family tried to manage things themselves.
The photograph was made during his internship at Jyllands-Posten and was also nominated to be the Danish Press Photograph of the Year 2024.
