Just before summer student of photojournalism Uffe Frandsen won the Danish part of the Prize for Journalism awarded by the EU Parliament (EPPJ Award). The story about the closing down of the Lithuanian powerplant, Ignalina was made with his writing college Steffen Stubager – both working for Jyllands-Posten at that time. Their story told about the effect of the closing down of the powerplant – how it influences a small town of 30,000 inhabitants. The jury said, that the story was personal and had an excellent connection between words and pictures.
Today Uffe Frandsen and Steffen Stubager is at the award ceremony in Brussels together with the winners from all the other European countries. And one winner from the whole Europe will be selected.
