Five students awarded at Danish POY

Today the results of the Danish Picture of the Year 2009 was announced at an award ceremony at Den Sorte Diamant in Copenhagen. Five students were among the winners:

– Rasmus Flindt Pedersen, who i currently at internship at Ekstra Bladet, won the first Prize in the category Portraits.

– Kristian Djurhuus won a first prize in the Open Category. Kristian Djurhuus got his BA exam in the summer 2009 and is now a staff photographer at MetroXpress.

– Lærke Posselt received a second prize in the category Danish Reportage. Lærke Posselt’s winning story was made during her second semester at the school. She has just begun her internship at Politiken.

– Lea Meilandt Mathiesen received a second prize in the category International Reportage for a story that she made as her final BA project in the summer 2009.

– Jonathan Bjerg-Møller won the second prize in the Multimedia category. Jonathan Bjerg-Møller is currently working on his BA-project.

Press Photographer of the Year 2009 was awarded to Mads Nissen, who also is a former student from our programme and who is working as a guest lecturer teaching our students of photojournalism.
