This morning it was announced that Lærke Posselt is one out of two young Danish artists to receive HM crown prince Frederik and princess Mary’s talent prize called “Stjernedrysprisen” (the Stardust Prize).
The prize is handed out each year to acknowledge young emerging talents among Danish artists.

Lærke Posselt receives the prize beacuse of “her ability to tell stories from a reality, which can seem even more fictional than the real world – and for her ability to create strong visual story telling, which people remember in a time of a constant and fast news flow, where the stories are often forgotten again”.
The committee behind the prize especially mentions Lærke Posselt’s project Beautiful Child, which she made during her 7th semester at DMJX.

From DMJX we congratulate Lærke, who deserves this acknowledgement. We’re also extremely happy and proud for this recognition of our photojournalism programme.
The official prize ceremony will take place on Saturday the 27th of September in Aalborg and it will be live transmitted in the Danish national broadcasting television station, DR. At their website you can also read the news about the talent prize.
Lærke Posselt has previously won several prizes with her story Beautiful Child. Just like she won first prize in the portrait category at World Press Photo in 2012. Lærke Posselt graduated her BA from DMJX in 2013.
