Conference on safety in conflict areas

Thursday afternoon more than 140 students at DMJX participated in a small conference on safety when working in war zones and disaster areas.

At the conference photojournalist Peter Hove from Politiken talked about the lessons he had learned working in conflict areas for more than ten years – and the price he has paid not being able to work like that right now.

Another speaker was journalist Puk Damsgaard from Danmarks Radio. Based on one bombing incident, she had experienced, Puk gave practical advices on how to prepare oneself when working in a conflict area.

Ole Egeberg Mikkelsen from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs talked about how the ministery and it’s serivces can be of help before journalists consider going to a conflict areas.
