Students visiting PixlArt

This Saturday Søren Pagter held the opening speech at the exhibition “Transit” at gallery PixlArt in Øservrå, in the north of Denmark.

“Transit” focusses on the current refugee challenges in Europe and in the exhibition you can see stories made by Sofie Amalie Klougart, Sigrid Nygaard, Jacob Ehrbahn, Magnus Wennman, Asger Ladefoged, Søren Bidstrup, Christian Als, Kristoffer Juel and Gregers Tycho.

In his opening speech Søren Pagter talked about the importance of documentary stories to be able to identify with the refugees and to look at them as individual human beings. He also adressed that photojournalism is not a media, which is meant to please people.

After the official opening a group of 18 DMJX-students had the chance to meet with two of the exhibiting photographers, Asger Ladefoged and Søren Bidstrup – both from Berlingske. The two photopgraphers shared experiences and techniques with the students.

PixlArt is a unigue digital galleri – it’s sitiuated in an old church and all the pictures are shown on large format screens. The galleri consists of four gallery rooms.

“Transit” is open untill the 8th of May.
