George Azar at DMJX

The past four days, George Azar from the American Univeristy of Beirut has been visiting and lecturing at DMJX.

George Azar is an award-winning photojournalist and documentary filmmaker, who has covered the Middle East since 1981. His photographs have appeared on the front pages of the New York Times and other leading publications. Azar is author of the book Palestine, A Photographic Journey.

Currently, George Azar serves as ‘Photojournalist-in-Residence.’ at our partner school the American University of Beirut.

During his visit at DMJX, Geroge Azar showed and talked about his award winning video documentary Gaza Fixer for various groups of students. Azar followed photojournalism classes in portraiture and sat in on a workshop with Alixandra Fazzina.
