Sefa Eyol winner and finalist in two competitions

With his project The Costs of Freedom, Sefa Eyol is one the three winners in the student category of The Royal Photographic Society Documentary Photography Awards ( DPA 2023 ) and he is one the finalists of the student contest Homework at Vilnius Photo Festival 2023.

The Costs of Freedom is a reportage project about the struggle of the Ukrainian people during the Russian attack at their nation. The project is made between April 2022 – July 2022 before Sefa Eyol started his study at DMJX. Photo: Sefa Eyol

Sefa Eyol’s winning project will be part of DPA 2023’s touring exhibition in the UK. The exhibition with the winning images will be open in London May 2024.

The winners were selected from around 3500 images submitted by hundreds of entries from across the world.

The Costs of Freedom is also exhibited at Vilnius Photo Festival 2023 together with all the other finalists in the festival’s competition.

Sefa Eyol is currently studying at our Photo 1 programme and will continue his study at Photo 2 in the spring 2024.
