DMJX is honoured to be able to show a photo exhibition in memory of the late photojournalist Camille Lepage.

Camille Lepage was a journalism student at our international Europe in the World programme in 2010-2011. During her study at DMJX Camille Lepage caught an interest in photojournalism and began to create a great career as a photojournalist. Camille worked mainly in South Sudan and the Central African Republic for customers like le Monde, Guardian and the New York Times.

Nevertheless Camille was interested in learning more and over the years I (Søren Pagter) was in contact with Camille because she wanted to return to DMJX to study photojournalism. In the spring 2014 Camille was accepted for our Photo2 international Photojournalism programme – ready to begin in the autumn 2014.

But on the 12th of May 2014 Camille was tragically killed when she was caught in a cross fire between two militia groups in the Central African Republic.
To honour Camille Lepage the heads of the Europe in the World programme have organized an exhibition to show some of her pictures. First the exhibition was exhibited in Utrecht and this Friday all photojournalism students gathered to open the exhibition at the library at DMJX.
