Announcing the selectees for the 2026 DMJX educational programme in Cairo

We’re delighted to announce the names of the 12 photographers selected from a total 91 applications for our upcoming educational programme that will run throughout 2026 in Cairo.

Portraits and names of the 12 photographers selected for The Language of Photojournalism – an educational programme made in co-operation with Photopia Cairo and supported by the Embassy of Denmark in Cairo.

The eduactional programme titled The Language of Photojournalism is made in co-operation with our partner Photopia Cairo and supported by the Embassy of Denmark in Cairo.

The aim of the programmne is to educate 12 Egyptian photographers in the language of photojournalism.
The programme will consist of a series of four workshops and conclude with an exhibition and a publication showing the participants’ final projects.

The participants will receive teaching and work on individual assignments during the workshops. Each participant will do a major project in the period in between the third and fourth workshop. The participants will receive individual coaching while they work on the final major project.

After the fourth and final workshop, all stories will be published in a mutual magazine. The magazine will be posted online at DMJX Photojournalism’s webpage, and the spreads of the magazine will be exhibited in Cairo.

August – Written Journalism with Gitte Luk
October/November – Final Editing and Visual Story Telling with Gitte Luk & Søren Pagter
