Recently I wrote about our co-operation with Photo.Circle in Nepal and that our first project – a one month basic course in photojournalism – had been a succes. Now some of the pictures from the course are launched online – made by the 20 young Nepali photographers who attended the course.
Antoher part of our developing project in Nepal is an archiving project, called The Nepali Memory Project. The staff at Photo.Circle finds and scans old pictures from all over Nepal in order to save the historical memory for the future.
In June, the Danish photojournalist, Mads Nissen, will conduct a master class workshop in Kathmandu for more skileld Nepali photographers. The participants are given two month to work on an important story from Nepal. Mads wil return in August to edit the stories together with the participants.
Later this year a group of Nepali photographers and teachers will visit DSMJ in Denmark to learn about teaching photojournalism.
