Wiesbaden Photo days is a biennale and one of the oldest photo festivals in Germany. It was first organized in 2002.

For each festival, works of 30-40 photographers are chosen by a jury and presented in 4-6 galleries / exhibition spaces in the city center of Wiesbaden.

In some years the Photo Days has hosted a guest country (Poland, France and Italy). This year 6-8 Finnish photographers / artists were invited to take part in the exhibition. The theme was “exploring borders through photography”.

A line cut through the forrest is where Finland ends and Rusland starts. “By the Borderline” is a project about the Finnish/Russian border, it’s history and the people, who live by it.

Northern borders broke up Skolt Sami families and Katri was forced to become a Finn as a child. “By the Borderline” is a project about the Finnish/Russian border, it’s history and the people, who live by it.
