Welcome lecture with Mads Joakim Rimer Rasmussen

The welcome lecture for the spring 2023 photojournalism students was held by Mads Joakim Rimer Rasmussen, Tuesday the 31st of January in the Yellow Auditorium.

Mads Joakim Rimer Rasmussen graduated in 2019 with a BA-project about 100 young people living at the Danish boarding school Fjordvang. He continued to follow the youngsters for their school year and in 2022, he published the book “Vokseværk” with the pictures from the project. At the welcome lecture, he talked about his working methods at the boarding school, the process of making a book and his current job as a photographer.

Around 30 DMJX students from four semesters listened to Mads Joakim’s talk.

After the talk, the students asked a lot of questions concerning how to work with a story about minors, how the editing process is when making a book etc.

Most of the photojournalism students from the spring 2023 term. This spring there will be 10 Photo 1 students, 11 second term students, 11 fourth term students and five Photo 2 students.
