In the fall 2024, DMJX Photojournalism received an invitation to exhibit at Voices – the European Festival of Journalism and Media Literacy that has just been held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, Croatia from February 27 to March 1, 2025.

We selected the three projects
– “Hidden Away” by Maria Høy Hansen
– “You Still Don’t Know My Name” by Louise Herrche Serup and Sarah Hartvigsen Jncker
– “Generation Climate” by Christian Falck Wolff
to represent DMJX at the festival.

The photographers designed their exhibition displays at home in Denmark and the photographs were printed in Zagreb and hung by the staff at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Maria Høy Hansen, Louise Herrche Serup and Christian Falck Wolff were invited to participate in the festival, where they Friday, February 28 presented their projects to the audience. Louise Herrche Serup was also interviewed for Croatian television. The three photographers spend the rest of the time in Zagreb attending the conference’s many international presentations and workshops.

The exhibitions and participation of the DMJX alumni were made possible through financial support from the Danish Embassy in Croatia. At the festival, the Danish ambassador Ole Frijs-Madsen presented the projects and spoke about the importance of supporting independent journalism at a “Speakers Corner” event. He also met with the exhibiting photographers, who gave him and the embassy staff an introduction to their projects.
