The video documentary A Way Out by Hussein Ali Kazem & Emil Mogensen has been selected for OFF – Odense International Film Festival 2026.

A Way Out is the story of the young and ambitious boxer Elias Faour, who found a way out of a criminal environment in Vollsmose through boxing with the support of his coach, Shahbaz. The documentary follows Elias in the days before his sixth professionel match and is produced in co-operation with Vollsmose Boxing and Primetime Boxing. Photo from the documentary.

Hussein Ali Kazem & Emil Mogensen made the documentary during a third term video documentary workshop with teacher Heidi Skibsted at DMJX in the fall 2025.

OFF – Odense International Film Festival 2026 has selected 164 short films from 4.092 submissions. The selected films will be screened during the festival that runs from the 24th till 30th of August 2026. OFF is the oldest film festival in Denmark and the only one in Denmark that is qualifying film for Oscar, EFA, BAFTA and Robert awards.
