Jørgen, a Mystery was screened on Tuesday, September 5 at Visa pour l’Image – International Festival of Photojournalism in Perpignan, France. Jørgen referred to his own life as a “heavenly hell”. On heroin, you’re in heaven, without it in hell. He has played his part on the drug scene of Aarhus since he moved there as a teenager and was first intrigued by the rush of heroin. Text from the project Jørgen, a Mystery. The project started during Mikkel Hørlyck’s second term at DMJX in the spring 2016. He has followed and photographed Jørgen on and off over a period of more than five years till Jørgen passed away in the fall 2021.Photo: Jodhi Mather-PikePhoto: Jodhi Mather-Pike
