Anas Kamal has received a second prize at The Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest for his portrait of Hassiba Alnajib and her daughter.

Anas Kamal made the story “Hassiba” in 2020 as his final project during a series of DMJX workshops in Cairo. The whole series was exhibited at Cairo Photoweek in March this year.
The Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest is an annual contest for young photojournalists aged between 18 and 33 years old. In 2021 around 4500 entries from 70 countries were submitted. The contest is made in memory of the Russina photojournalist Andrei Stenin, who died while on assignment.
